If there is anywhere in Sydney that deserves a doughnut shop, it’s Darling Harbour. I can’t think of it ever having one. Finally, it has. A Melbourne based company called Walker’s.

And they do mighty fine doughnuts, too.

From their fairly extensive choice, I chose a Pineapple Splice Doughnut. It had pineapple icing and a cream filling – a nice twist on the classic pineapple doughnut.
The doughnut itself was light, soft and tasty. Overall, it wasn’t too sweet, which is how I like it.

The only problem was that the pineapple icing stuck to the bag. I didn’t carry it for long, but it just about completely came away. I’ll have to remember to be more careful next time I get one of their iced doughnuts.

By the way, the prices are fairly reasonable.
Walker’s look like they are determined to grow. They are offering the chance to take one of their franchises. I just hope they don’t follow in the footsteps of so many other franchised chains and grow too quickly for their own good.
