Milk Bar by Cafe Ish is a place I keep going back to. I can always rely on a top notch doughnut.
Having said that, one of my friends, Eddie, says he’s not that impressed by their doughnuts. He went after I raved about the place. Perhaps I built his expectations a little too high. Dunno. I still enjoy their doughnuts.

On my last visit, it was late one evening and the choice of doughnuts was thin. I opted for the Creme Brûlée.
I had completely forgotten that I had already tried it about a year ago.
The first thing I noticed about it was how heavy it was. It was without doubt the heaviest doughnut I’ve had so far. I knew it was chic-a-bloc full of custard. I was right.

Lovely, creamy custard filled the centre.
On the outside was some crystallised sugar, I suppose acting as toffee on a traditional creme brûlée.

The dough was the usual tasty offering that I have come to expect from Milk Bar by Cafe Ish.
I probably gained about 35 kilos after eating this heavy doughnut. But I enjoyed every mouth-full.
