Vanilla Zuccherati @ Sweet And Savoury Delights

There were lots of doughnuts at the Sydney Royal Easter Show this year. As can be expected, some were good, others not so.

The first one I tried was from a place called Sweet And Savoury Delights. It was a Vanilla Zuccherati – an Italian doughnut with custard filling. Similar to a canoli, except with a doughnut-style casing.

Sweet And Savoury Delights is a small bakery that doesn’t give too much away. Here’s their full bio:
‘Sweet and Savoury Delights’ brings together lovers of Italian cuisine and appreciative foodies!
Boasting traditional Canoli, Arancini and more!
Apart from that, there’s not much more I can tell you about them. I’m sure there’s an interesting story there somewhere.

Anyway, the Zuccherati was pretty good. The firm casing peeled away nicely and revealed a lovely vanilla custard. Nice and creamy, not too sweet.
They also sold canoli. Got to love canoli!
