Donut Papi at Redfern does terrific doughnuts. They have Filipino-inspired flavours as well as traditional ones.

Every month they have new flavours to keep you coming back for more. Which I do.

This time around, I got a Choco Milo & SkyFlake Crumbs Doughnut. It was one of their monthly flavours. Being a lover of Milo, I had to give it a try.

In their description, they say that Milo is a South East Asian drink. I’ll let them have that, even though it is an Australian creation. At least it shows how an Australian product has had such a big impact upon that part of the globe. And it appears the people at Donut Papi are also lovers of Milo.

The Choco Milo Doughnut was very good. As the photos show, it was absolutely loaded with Milo, which made it a bit difficult to eat, but when there’s a will there’s a way.

As you eat it, the Milo falls through the doughnut, expanding the coverage and making it all the more enjoyable.

It also had chocolate icing and SkyFlakes Crumbs – which they also call Saltine Cracker Crumbs.

I did some research. SkyFlakes are a brand of plain crackers, which we don’t seem to have in Australia – well, at least I’ve never seen them anywhere. The closest thing I’m familiar with are Premium Crackers, Carr’s Table Water Crackers and Captain’s Table Water Crackers and other similar crackers.

The doughnut was light and fluffy, a soft cake-like dough. Delicious.

The doughnuts at Donut Papi are always very fresh. If they weren’t, I wouldn’t keep going back.
