The son of a baker. store at Miranda Westfield is an offshoot of Alexander’s of Rockdale – a Macedonian bakery.
The outlet used to be called Alexander’s, but they seem to be opening cafés under the SOB brand. You can read my earlier post back when it was under the Alexander’s name.

son of a baker. has a great selection of food that you won’t find anywhere else (except Alexander’s). Not different for the sake of being different, but just twists on classics. Like their cruffin – croissant muffin hybrid. Among others. And it all looks positively delicious.

I got a Go-nuts Cronut, which is a salted caramel cronut with nuts.
It had loads of chunky crushed peanut pieces on top, stuck in place by a layer of thick salted caramel sauce. The cronut was covered in sugar.
This is a great cronut. Not too oily, Soft, delectable. Didn’t feel too greasy in my mouth. Very nice.
It’s like a fusion of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern foods with French/American foods, with the sweet crunchy nut topping and the cronut pastry. Bonanza! And using the word ‘fusion’ to describe food makes me feel very current.
While you’re there, make sure you try some of their other sweet and savoury foods – sensational.
