This is a review of another doughnut from Simon Says Donuts – this time it’s a Peanut Butter & Jam Doughnut. Unfortunately I can’t remember the official name and it’s not listed on their website. So we’ll have to make do with my version: ‘Peanut Butter & Jam’.
As you can see by the photos, the doughnut is covered in loads of crushed nuts. So, to state the obvious, if you have a nut allergy, give this one a miss.
I love peanut butter and peanut butter-flavoured things. So I was quite happy with this doughnut.
The icing was sweet and the nuts gave it balance.
The strips of jam on top gave it that extra dimension, like PB&J.
The dough was nice, fresh and soft.
So, yep , thoroughly enjoyed it.
It’s a good sign that their doughnuts are fresh.
