When I was in Tuggerah on the NSW Central Coast recently, I grabbed myself a Cinnamon Pretzel from Poppy’s Pretzels.

Pretzels are fairly similar to doughnuts, so I feel justified writing about them on my doughnut blog.

Anyway, like I said, I got a Cinnamon Pretzel.

Of course, Poppy’s Pretzels sells pretzels of all sorts of flavours, but I prefer the sweet ones.

My pretzel was warm and quite delicious.

I would have liked one straight out of the cooker, but it came from the window, so I have no idea how long it had been sitting there. It was already covered in cinnamon and sugar.

Pretzels tend to be heavier and chewier than doughnuts, which is exactly what this one was.

It was coated in loads of cinnamon and sugar. The cinnamon made it quite dark.

It was perfectly cooked – not over or under done.

And just the right amount of chewiness. Good stuff!

I feel that my pretzel was far better value than the Donut King doughnuts being sold nearby.

If you’re in Tuggerah, give Poppy’s Pretzels a go.
