LA Donuts has recently opened a store in Beverly Hills in Sydney’s south near Roselands.
It’s called LA Donuts because the doughnuts are American-style – hand-cut yeast-raised. But it happens to be a good choice of names considering it’s located in Sydney’s Beverly Hills.

The store is not exactly easy to get to, but it’s worth the effort. It’s just before the M5 on-ramp on the Eastern side of King George’s Road, so if there’s a queue for the M5 east-bound, you might be waiting a few traffic light changes before you get to it.

The range of flavours was quite good.
The first of their doughnuts I’m looking at is the Vanilla Slice.

Man, I love vanilla slices, so this one was a must-have.
The dough was lovely and soft.
It had a hard passionfruit icing on top with a thick custard filling. However, I would have liked more custard.

The custard isn’t the same as the traditional rubbery vanilla slice custard but is instead more traditional thick smooth doughnut vanilla custard.
Reviews of other flavours are to come.
