I was in Brunswick Heads in northern New South Wales when I went to the local bakery – Bruns Bakery. I’ve been there several times before and had different things that they offer. They are always busy and the quality is good.
They have a few doughnut options to choose from. While I have already tried most of them, I had never tried their cinnamon doughnuts. It was the one thing without a price tag.
I assumed $2.50 – $4.00 each. So I asked for 2.
It came to $12.

Hang on. $12 for 2 small cinnamon doughnuts? $6 each? Sorry, but that is way too much.
I don’t know what they use to justify the $6 price tag, but I’m not interested.
The other douhgnuts were bigger and had more to offer. The jam filled doughnut was $6. The loaded doughnut was $8.20. The small iced doughnuts were $6.
Give me a break. If you want to rob me, you’ll need a mask and a gun.
I’m sure they won’t miss my business, as I won’t go there again. But I’m sure I won’t be the only one who balks at paying overs for a basic doughnut.
