The doughnuts at Specialty Donuts in Macarthur Square, Campbelltown are very good and very resonably priced. And very popular. Whenever I go there, there is a queue and the tables are occupied.
The store had a make-over a little while ago, but the doughnuts haven’t changed, which is a good thing.

I recently tried their Apple Charlotte Doughnut.
If you’re wondering what an apple charlotte is, it’s simply an apple pie with icing – usually passionfruit. Some old cake shops used to have them, but I haven’t seen one for many years. I loved them.
I saw a doughnut version at Specialty Donuts so I had to try it to see if it gave me the apple charlotte experience.
The dough was very nice. It’s one of the great things about the doughnuts at Speciality Doughnuts.

It had plenty of icing. It didn’t have any passionfruit seeds, so there’s a chance there was flavouring used, but I’m not going to say for certain.
It didn’t have much apple filling. I would have liked a bit more.
But still a very enjoyable doughnut. As are all the doughnuts at Specialty Doughnuts.
