I had not long eaten a large lunch when I stumbled upon a place called Happy Dough in Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. I simply couldn’t eat another thing, so I declined from getting one of their doughnuts, but I’d like to tell you what I know about them.

They are located in an island outlet in the large Sunshine Plaza shopping centre.
They sell doughnuts that are gluten free, soy free and vegan friendly.

I’ve had several gluten free doughnut before and they range from very nice to rather disappointing. These ones looked very good and I was questioning my stomach whether it could have made room for just one doughnut. I was just a couple of hours from my flight home, so I’d have to eat it sooner rather than later because I didn’t want to nurse it on the plane. So I reluctantly chose not to get one.
At this point, I need to say how excellent the customer service was. The guy behind the counter did everything right, even when I said I wasn’t going to get one, he was still polite and upbeat. This customer service was a major contrast to the service I got earlier in the day from a doughnut seller at the Caloundra Markets.

So, unfortunately it was just one of those rare times that I see a doughnut that I want but choose not to get it.
I hope if you’re near Sunshine Plaza that you go up to Happy Dough and get some of their nice-looking gluten free doughnuts.
