Donut Papi at Redfern have really made a name for themselves in Sydney.

Unfortunately, I can’t get to their Redfern store very often these days, so when I saw them at the Easter Show, I thought it was a good opportunity to have a couple of their doughnuts.

I had forgotten how good they were.

In the past, I have only had their ring doughnuts. But at the Easter Show, they seemed to only have Berliner style doughnuts, which was interesting since the Berliner Bakery stand was just a few yards away selling similar doughnuts.

Anyway, I got the Rose Doughnut.

While I thoroughly enjoyed it, my daughter wasn’t keen on the rose flavour. I admire them for trying different flavours.

It wasn’t too sweet and the custard filling was a very nice consistency.

It was coated in sugar and had a dollop of the custard on top with a bit of rose decoration – nice touch.

I enjoyed this doughnut more than any of their ring doughnuts I have had in the past.

I hope to get back to the Redfern store soon to see their full range again.
