Tarlee Bakery, Tarlee
Where is Tarlee, South Australia? About 80kms north of Adelaide.
What’s there? Wheat, wheat silos and the dreaded Russian wheat aphid, apparently.
And if you drive down Horrocks Highway, which you pretty much have to, you’ll see the distinctive Tarlee Bakery, unless your attention is distracted by the huge wheat silo on the opposite side of the road.
I’m not sure if they actually bake anything there, but at least they have the good taste to stock doughnuts for sale.
They also have their own keep cups that you can buy. Why on earth don’t more coffee shops and cafés sell keep cups? Crazy.
Anyway, I didn’t get a doughnut from Tarlee Bakery that day. I did, however, get a good cup of coffee. Didn’t get the keep cup – already got a few.
