If you asked me where Forest Lodge was, I’d have no idea. Sounds like north shore to me. But no, it’s near Annandale which isn’t far west of the Sydney CBD.

Anyway, in Forest Lodge is a place called The Tramsheds. I won’t go into the history of the place, after all, you can probably guess by its name. The Tramsheds is now a small shopping and eating complex. I say small because I was expecting it to be a lot bigger. One quick walk around in a square and you’ve experienced the entire thing.

Apparently, the leaseholders there change often. One fairly new leaseholder is Donut Jam. They are based on the NSW south coast, and for some reason saw fit to expand into Sydney using The Tramsheds as a flagship. I hope that’s not a mistake.

The Donut Jam store stands out like the proverbial with it’s colourful shop fittings and lighting.

They have lots of donuts to choose from, and the best part is that they make to order. Okay, it means you might have to wait 5 minutes or so for your donut, but you know it’s going to be super fresh.

I got a couple of donuts. On this occasion I’ll talk about the Cinnamon Donut.

Cooked while I waited, it was lovely and warm when I sat down to eat it.

It was soft and not quite as juicy as some cinnamon donuts, which isn’t a bad thing because although juicy cinnamon donuts are nice, it means they have lots of oil.

The cinnamon sugar coating was perfect. It had a little more cinnamon than most other cinnamon donuts, but I like that. It was still sweet, but the cinnamon flavour really shone through.

I’ll also add that although there was only one person manning the stand, the service was excellent.

It’s worth a trip to The Tramsheds for a donut from Donut Jam.
