It’s rare that you find a cinnamon doughnut that tastes unlike any other. The Cinnamon Mochi Donut from Mochi Donuts is one. It is delightful.
The Japanese sticky rice cake Mochi has a unique texture and flavour. This doughnut manages to capture that texture and flavour beautifully.
When you look at it, it doesn’t look much different from your average cinnamon doughnut. It does have the bevelled look, but you could be excused for thinking you’re just going to get another cinnamon doughnut.
Then you bite into it. Like I said, the texture is totally different. It’s rubbery and chewy, like classic mochi.
The flavour is also lovely.
