FRIDAY 4 JUNE 2021 is National Doughnut Day.

Every year, several doughnut sellers make a thing of it.

As I write this, no word has been mentioned by anyone about any special deals they are doing for Doughnut Day. However, as the time draws closer, I’m sure we’ll start hearing things.

Leading the charge is always Krispy Kreme.

In America, it’s a fundraising day for the Salvation Army. However in Australia, it’s just a marketing opportunity.

If I get the chance, I’ll add here what doughnut sellers in Australia are doing for National Doughnut Day.

Krispy Kreme: Giving away 100,000 free doughnuts. That’s a lot of doughnuts. Even I can’t eat that many. Victoria is once again in the COVID bad books so they miss out.

Mama’s Kiwi Donuts: The most philanthropic of all the doughnut stores, Mama’s Kiwi Donuts at Minto is giving all Salvation Army workers and volunteers a free doughnut. That’s what National Doughnut Day is meant to be about. Well done, Mama’s Kiwi Donuts.
