If you’re new to The Doughnut Mum, you have to try their Lemon Meringue Doughnut. It’s exceptional. You might not find a better doughnut than this in Sydney.
The Lemon Meringue Doughnut is the last one out of the kitchen each day because it takes that little something extra to make it.
It’s The Doughnut Mum’s signature doughnut and the one of which the original creator, Lieta, is most proud.
I really don’t think it’s possible to fault this doughnut.
The lemon curd and the meringue are made from scratch.
The bittersweet lemon curd is a beautiful complement to the meringue, that is hand burnt before making its way to the shop shelves.
Like all doughnuts at The Doughnut Mum, the yeast-raised dough is nice and chewy.
This is the second time I’ve reviewed The Doughnut Mum’s Lemon Meringue Doughnut. Nothing has changed since last time. It’s still excellent.
