I have already shared my dislike for Red Mango on these pages.
But here I go again…
The service is garbage.
The way I’m looked at and served, I feel like I’m a huge inconvenience to them. No ‘please’, no ‘thank you’, no smile, no pleasantness whatsoever. Slow service, like they have better things to do than to serve me.
It’s not like I’m a difficult customer that they know and they have good reason to give me crap service. I rarely go there simply because their service is so unfriendly. I’m not rude or display any qualities of self-importance, entitlement or arrogance.
What’s the deal? I don’t get it, I really don’t. If they were located in a quieter part of North Sydney they’d have gone out of business years ago. What’s more, I often see them picking up and touching the cakes and pastries with their bare hands – very unhygienic.
This is on their website:
“We are committed to high standard and best quality, we feel connected to the community and are experienced in cater for the special functions or events, come to Red Mango and you will find friendly faces and great products.” (The poor grammar is them, not me).
“Friendly faces.” Are they serious?

Well, then, why do I go there? Simply because they have the best doughnuts around. I don’t get them for myself, only as birthday treats for my colleagues.
Crap service aside, how was the Nutella Doughnut I got for my colleague?
Pretty damn good.
Here are the words she used: Light, fluffy, oily, huge, fresh, sweet.
In short, she loved it.
It’s an Italian-style doughnut. It has a nugget of hard chocolate on top. And the small amount of filling is Nutella.

Funny enough, Red Mango has been renovated within the last 12 months. And for some reason, they didn’t put their business name anywhere. So, if you walk past it, you wouldn’t know what the name of the place is. It still appears to be called Red Mango, but their signage, like their service, is not customer-friendly.
