Is it Potts Point or is it Kings Cross? Both names seem interchangeable depending on the target audience.

Anyway, there is a new cafe that opened in Potts Point/Kings Cross called Full Proof. I walked past it a few times without realising they sell homemade doughnuts. Then, a friend of mine tipped me off about their Chicken Salt Doughnut. I did a double take on the flavour, but knew I had to check this place out.

They had a few options to choose from and they all looked inviting, but I had to give the Chicken Salt one a try.

Firstly, the service was excellent. Friendly and fast. It seemed like they all enjoyed being there.

But how was the doughnut?

It was delicious.

It was freshly made and still warm. The dough was lovely: soft and perfectly cooked.

The chicken salt and thyme flavour was interesting. Being savoury, I guess you might think of it more as a pretzel than a doughnut, but less chewy than a pretzel. There was just the right amount of chicken salt on it too.

This is wording from their website:
Our sourdough doughnuts are hand-rolled daily using organic ingredients, moving beyond simple sweets into deep, savoury flavours. Every filling is made in-house and piped only when you order, while our cinnamon sugar and chicken salt varieties are cooked fresh to ensure they reach you warm.

So, for a different doughnut experience, this place is a must. I’ll be going back soon to try some of the sweet doughnut options.
