I was in a place I had never been to before, St Helens park, which is down around the Campbelltown area of Sydney. I spotted a bakery so, of course, I had to check it out.

I was delighted to see it was an old-school bakery with custard tarts, vanilla slices, meat pies and even the really old apple charlotte (I got one of those for old time’s sake).

They had a few different house-made doughnuts. I checked with the baker that they were made there and he confirmed that they were.

Hard choice, but the one that stood out to me was the one with pink icing. It looked lovely and plump and colourful.

I’m pleased to let you know that it was an excellent doughnut, which is something that I didn’t expect from an out-of-the-way bakery that I never knew existed. But this is the very reason I put the effort into DomNuts – to share with the world the great doughnuts that you might not have otherwise heard of.

The Pink Iced Doughnut was nice and fresh. The dough was gorgeously chewy. The pink icing gave it the sweetness it required, and the bonus was the sprinkles on top.

What a great bakery. I know it’s out of the way for most of the world’s population, but it’s a good one for sure.

They don’t seem to have much online presence, not even a Facebook page, so I can’t give you a link to their website.
