I was in Werribee in Melbourne recently and I hunted online for some doughnuts. I found Alonso’s Donut wasn’t far away. So I headed off to their store. Well, I thought it was their store.

It turns out it’s their bakery where you can only order online. They wouldn’t sell me one face-to-face. Their website doesn’t say that you MUST order online. I prefer to see things for myself before I pay for it.

Okay. So I went online. Minimum order is $20. I just wanted a doughnut and a shake. It didn’t come to $20.

So I didn’t get anything from Alonso’s Donuts.

I’m not sure if the business model works for them, but it seems a bit weird to me. Maybe it’s more detailed and has something to do with the compliances needed for having a store with public access. I don’t know.

All I can say is if you want doughnuts from Alonso’s Donuts, remember to order online.
