There are a few good old school bakeries in Tuncurry, which is on the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales.

I dropped into one of them – Tunners Bakehouse – to try their doughnuts.

They had some Iced Donuts and a Jam Ball. I got a couple of Cinnamon Donuts.

They were lovely. The dough was soft and fluffy like a good cinnamon doughnut should be.

There was a light coating of cinnamon sugar. Some places go heavier on the cinnamon sugar, but I didn’t mind these not being smothered. Fortunately, the dough had a good flavour so it didn’t need an overwhelming coating of cinnamon sugar.

Of all the bakeries in the Forster/Tuncurry region, the doughnuts from Tunners were the best that I had during my stay there recently.

They have lots of other nice sweets and pies for sale too.
