I was taking a stroll around Liverpool the other day when I spotted a little bakery on the Mall called LS Bakery. That’s the benefit of walking around outside of the local Westfield – you find these little shops that have amazing foods.

Liverpool is a place that is stuck in a time warp. The shops look like they have been there for centuries and will be there for another few centuries.
In the window of LS Bakery was a selection of donuts.
It’s a family-owned Balkan bakery, with lots of delicious European foods for sale.
A lovely lady served me, who looked like she had been there for years.

I got a Jam Donut.
I could tell it was freshly made. The dough was quite firm and chewy which is how it is supposed to be. There was a little bit of soft sugar sprinkled on top.
It had a bit of an oily aftertaste, but not enough to ruin the doughnut.

The jam was just simple commercially-made jam, which I expected given the doughnut was only $3. I didn’t photograph it until I got home, so the jam was messed up a bit, ruining the presentation. In my photo, it looks like there wasn’t much jam inside the doughnut, but there was actually a good amount.
I’m so glad I stumbled upon LS Bakery.
