I thought I’d try We Knead Donuts, which are boxed frozen doughnuts available in supermarkets.

As they are frozen doughnuts, my expectations were low. Generally, doughnuts don’t like anything but room temperature.

Anyway, I gave them a go. They come in a box with two different flavours: White Choc Hazelnut and Chocolate Caramel.

They were pretty much as expected. The flavour was okay without being exceptional. They were individually wrapped in plastic.

The first one I tried was the White Choc Hazelnut. The white chocolate coating lifted from the dough like a helmet. It had a sprinkling of crushed nuts on top. The filling was sickly sweet.

The other one was the Chocolate Caramel. The caramel topping stuck to the plastic wrapping. It was even sweeter than the White Choc one. It had a gooey caramel topping with drizzled chocolate. It also had a filling of caramel. Altogether, super sweet. A bit too sweet for my liking.

All up, as expected. Doughnuts for people who desperately need doughnuts at any given time of day or night. Just be aware the box says they take 3.5 hours at room temperature to thaw. I’m pretty sure they’d be right to go in an hour.
