When The Doughnut Mum first opened in 2019, I was quick to go there, excited at the time by the opening of a rare specialist doughnut store in Sydney. I met the owner, a lovely lady, and enjoyed the beautiful doughnuts they made.

I don’t get out to Warwick Farm too often, but I did again recently. I’m pleased to say that not only are the doughnuts still great quality, but they are also very good value. In this era of soaring prices, The Doughnut Mum has kept their prices low.

On my recent visit, I got a Pineapple Doughnut. I have probably had the Pineapple Doughnut before, (I’ve probably had most of the flavours) but I’m a sucker for a good one.

And it was good.

The pineapple glazing had a nice zing to it. It cracked a lot and fell off the doughnut, but with careful eating you can save the flavour from falling onto your lap.

The dough was also excellent. Perhaps slightly over-cooked, but that certainly didn’t spoil the flavour.

A few years ago, The Doughnut Mum was awarded Australia’s Best Doughnut at the Baking Industry Awards for their signature Lemon Meringue Doughnut. They still make that one. It’s probably their most popular and should be tried by every Sydney doughnut lover.

The Doughnut Mum is worth the trip to Warwick Farm.
