The great thing about Brooklyn Donuts, at Miranda anyway where I have been several times now, is that the service is always excellent. And for me, that’s a very good start to my donut eating pleasure. They must do some good training because too many places offer lousy service, and it usually comes from young people doing a job while they are studying.

Anyway, on this visit I got a Bee Sting Donut, which I have not tried before. It was put in a box, which I like because it protects the donut.

The Bee Stong Donut was filled with honeycomb cream. The cream was delicious – very sweet, but delicious. It had a really nice consistency about it, being a little like thick honey.

On top was ‘fluffy fresh cream’ which was also very nice, not quite as sweet as the filling. It was, as described, light and fluffy.

It had roasted almonds on top, which added a different dimension to the flavour experience.

It had a coating of icing sugar as well.

The dough was extremely fresh and soft and had plenty of flavour.

It’s hard to resist a donut from Brooklyn when I go to Miranda.
