Here’s an interesting fact: The Historic Gundagai Bakery is believed to be the oldest working bakery in Australia. That’s straight off the Gundagai website. That’s amazing. The bakery’s Facebook page says they were established in 1864.

Anyway, my daughter took a trip to Gundagai recently and returned home with a couple of donuts for me.
There was a Cinnamon Donut and a Jam Donut.

It’s important to understand that they travelled from Gundagai to Sydney, and then I didn’t get to try them until the next day. Donuts should be eaten the same day as being cooked. So mine weren’t at their best.
The Cinnamon Donut was nice, with a good amount of cinnamon sugar. I’m sure when it was fresh it was soft and delicate.

The Jam Donut was also nice, but my biggest concern was that there wasn’t enough jam in it. See the photo of it cut in half. Not enough. The jam was commercially made, not homemade.
I’d love to try their donuts fresh. I’m sure they would be great. So I’ll have to take a trip to Gundagai one day soon.
