LA Donuts in Beverly Hills has become a Sydney institution. It’s a great store on busy King Georges Road that had given hope to the donut-loving people of southern Sydney. Beverly Hills, by the way, is not far from Hurstville.
I was given a Pineapple Donut from LA Donuts by some friends recently. It didn’t disappoint.
Trying to find a great Pineapple Donut is not easy because the standard was set many years ago by school canteens and the Pineapple Donuts they sold.
The LA Donut Pineapple Donut is a good version in the modern era.
The dough is nice and soft and spongy, which is typical of LA Donuts.
The pineapple glazing is sweet with a good pineapple flavour quite similar to the old-style Pineapple Donuts.
The size of the donut is also good – LA Donuts are always a generous size.
It’s great to have friends who give me donuts.
