Northern New South Wales is a beautiful part of Australia. it’s warm year-round and the beaches are inviting.

I went to a place called Kingscliff where there was a shop called George’s Deli. It’s a local store run by a young Filipino couple. Their idea is to offer a fusion of American and Filipino tastes. Americans and Filipinos both love doughnuts, so, they make fresh doughnuts every day.

I got myself a Maple Glazed Doughnut. (There were about 4 other flavours available when I was there).

Weirdly, I got that one despite not being a big fan of maple flavour.

So ignoring the flavour, the doughnut was very nice.

It was fresh and firm, which is the style of these doughnuts. It was large too, so it kept me going for a while.

There was a good coating of glazing and the maple flavour was not too over-powering.

I think it’s one of those doughnuts that would go perfectly with a good coffee.

It’s nice to come across little surprises like George’s Deli in a place you least expect it.
