Brunswick Heads is a beautiful place near Byron Bay in Northern NSW. Everyone shortens the name Brunswick Heads to simply ‘Bruns’. If you say ‘Brunswick Heads’, they know you’re not a local.

Bruns has a very busy bakery called Bruns Bakery. Apparently it’s been there since the 1960s. That’s one of the great things about rural towns – there is usually a really goood bakery.

Whenever I went to or passed Bruns Bakery, which was several times, there was a permanent queue for their bread, pastries, and coffee. Fortunately, they sell donuts. So on one of my visits, I got a Jam Donut.

As expected, it was pretty good. The dough was soft and chewy. It was covered in lots of cinnamon sugar.

I guess if I had a criticism it would be that the jam was clearly not homemade.

Otherwise, it was a very nice donut.

They had other donut options, including Loaded and Iced Donuts. And they had plenty of cakes, pies, and slices to choose from as well.
