Part 1
On the first day of the Easter Show, I had a wander around to see if I could see any new doughnut vendors. I thought I did, but it turned out to be one of the others occupying a second location. Anyway, here’s what I have after my first visit.
G-Free Donuts – Home and Lifestyle Pavilion: G-Free are there selling their very nice gluten-free doughnuts.

San Valentino – Home and Lifestyle Pavilion: Italian-style doughnuts are one of their offerings.

Berliner Bakery – Home and Lifestyle Pavilion: Always the best doughnuts at the Show, they have the usual selections plus a new Pistachio Cream Doughnut and a Creme Brûlée Doughnut which they do on special occasions.

Donut Puffs – Woolworths Dome: One of the biggest stands in the Woolworths Dome is a regular favourite, where you can watch your donut puffs being made.

Gelato Factory – Woolworths Dome: Another long-time vendor. They sell gelato, but one of their options is a doughnut with gelato filling.

Waffle Popz – Grand Parade: They have doughnuts as one of the bases to which you add toppings.

I Love Churros – Grand Parade: Churros (which are similar to doughnuts) with a choice of toppings.

Hot Donuts and Coffee Caravan – Grand Parade: Grab a few hot cinnamon doughnuts with a fresh coffee.

Donut Balls – Showground Road, opposite Woolworth Dome: I thought this was a brand new vendor, but it turns out it is the same people as the Donut Puffs inside the Dome. Oh well! Two places to get freshly made doughnut balls.

Part 2
I managed to get around to more of the doughnut sellers on my second visit to the Royal Easter Show, but I still haven’t found any new sellers from previous years.
Donut Factory – Main Arena: While you’re watching the cow mustering or the sheep herding in the main arena, you can get some cinnamon donuts and have them either au naturel or loaded.

Bean Drinkin – New England Avenue: Right down the back, near the cattle pavilions, is a small food caravan selling coffee and commercially made sweets, such as doughnuts.

Candy Castle – Olympic Boulevard: To the side of the Kid’s Carnival is this Easter Show stalwart. I think they built the show around it. They sell some cinnamon doughnuts among other things you’d expect at a carnival.

Dicky’s Donuts – Olympic Boulevard: They only do donuts and you can get cinnamon or ‘filled’ donuts, which aren’t filled at all. Arguably the most disappointing donuts of the Show. What you see in the picture on the wall (see below) and what you get are quite different.

Carousel Cafe – Orana Parade: You can get cinnamon donuts here among other carnival-style foods.

Fresh Food Station – Orana Parade: They sell jam-filled donuts among other carnival-style foods.

Cattle Lawns Cafe and Bar – Orana Parade: It’s weird to see a bar selling donuts, but it’s a cafe as well, so maybe it’s not so weird. The donuts are commercially made.

Hot Take-Away Food – Main Carnival, Australia Avenue: Every year they put the same plastic donuts in the window for display. I don’t know if that’s doing themselves any favours. The ones you buy aren’t plastic.

Part 3
I scoured the areas of the Show that I hadn’t been to, including going deep into the Main Carnival area, which I don’t normally bother doing.
Golden Way Canteens – Main Carnival, Australia Avenue: More carnival food, including cinnamon doughnuts and jam doughnuts. Eat this stuff AFTER you’ve been on the stomach-churning rides.

Adore – Olympic Boulevard: A cafe that sell some Italian-style filled doughnuts. When I went, I found it pretty hard to get service.

Ian’s Ice-cream – Main Arena, near Members’ Entry: This place is a permanent fixture, so they are there at AFL and Big Bash games as well. They sell ice-cream but also had doughnuts. Interestingly, there are several Ian’s Ice-Cream stands around the Show, but I only saw doughnuts at this one. (Photo to come)

Chimnutz – Riverina Ave: I haven’t seen this stand in previous years at the Easter Show. Maybe it’s new or maybe I’ve just never noticed it before. They sell ice-cream in chimney cones similar to doughnuts. So it’s like having a doughnut with ice-cream.

BONUS – Crocheted doughnut and milkshake – Arts & Crafts Pavilion: I’m sure I read somewhere that there was going to be a doughnut category in the baked items awards at the Show. But I didn’t see any. However, I spotted this little number below. Genius. And an award winner.

So that’s it. I’m quite sure I visited every vendor that sells doughnuts. The bottom line is that there are no new doughnut-sellers this year, unless you count the Chimnutz ice-cream stand.
Happy Easter.
