The Forster Bakehouse in Forster, NSW has a good reputation, particularly for their meat pies. They have a long list of prizes from competitions, the most recent being only a few months ago.
When I was in Forster recently I visited Forster Bakehouse. However, I didn’t get a meat pie. I got a cinnamon doughnut, because I write about doughnuts, not meat pies.

I was there early and they didn’t have a great choice of items ready for sale. Luckily, they already had doughnuts in the display case.
When I see doughnuts in bakeries, I know that they are mainly for the kids. But I got a couple anyway.
They were very fresh, which is a good start. It’s good to see local bakeries starting anew each day, which some don’t do.

The dough was quite dense, a bit like cake. That’s fine, but I prefer the softer variety.
They had a good coating of cinnamon sugar.
One of the things with cinnamon doughnuts is if they leave a bitter aftertaste in your mouth. These didn’t. That’s good.

All up, quite enjoyable. Not outstanding but enjoyable.
The choice of doughnuts in Forster is quite good, so it’s nice to see one of the bakeries in the town centre still doing a great job.
