I think this is the very first time I have reviewed a Donut King donut. The reason why it has taken me so long is because I know from long ago that their donuts aren’t great. I also think they are over-priced.

I have also read many articles about the parent company being harsh on the franchisees. So the dilemma there is by ignoring them am I hurting the parent company or the innocent franchisee?
Anyway, I decided to give a Donut King donut a try one day. I was in a Sydney suburban shopping centre and felt like a donut.

I chose the Custard Ball with caramel icing.
It was fresh and the dough was soft. But apart from the caramel icing, it was flavourless.
There wasn’t enough custard inside it and the custard wasn’t great anyway. The caramel icing was okay and it had chocolate flakes on top for good measure.
Overall, very disappointing.

I have chosen not to mention which Donut King franchise I got the donut from because I’m sure they are good people who don’t deserve a bad review when the donuts were probably supplied to them already made from a Sydney factory. So, not their fault.
