La Promenade Patisserie in Sans Souci (south-east Sydney) is an interesting place. They have lovely looking cakes and pastries that appear home-made. But the place itself looks like it could really use a make-over.

Anyway, they had one type of donut on offer – a jam donut – so I got one.

It was kinda small but was inexpensive.

It had a coating of sugar on the outside.

The dough was lovely. Very nicely cooked – slightly hard on the outside and a soft and moist on the inside. It was the dough that made this a good donut.

The jam was a bit of a let down as it was commercially made. I wish they used some good quality jam, but it was the red apple puree. A good quality tart raspberry jam would have lifted this donut considerably.

All up, it was good and a nice donut to have with a coffee.
