I spotted Berliner at the recent Good Food and Wine Show Christmas Markets at Carriageworks in Sydney. Of course, as someone who loves their donuts, I had to get one. I opted for the Christmas Pavlova Donut.

Their donuts are always amazing, and this one was no exception.
It had a meringue on top, or on the side, depending on how you look at it. There was also some berry and rhubarb sauce, which complemented the meringue because it added a slightly tart flavour to the sweetness of the meringue.

Inside was vanilla custard with a hint of passionfruit. The custard was the perfect consistency for a donut filling.
The dough was tasty and firm, and just right for a berliner-style donut.

The Christmas Pavlova Donut is, as you would expect, available for a limited time. Berliner do lots of markets around inner Sydney, including special ones coming up to Christmas. Check their socials for locations, and be sure to try the Christmas Pavlova Donut.
