I got the signature donut from Mama’s Kiwi Donuts in Minto. It happens to be called Mama’s Fresh Cream Donut. Minto is not far from Campbelltown in Sydney’s south west.
Mama’s Kiwi Donuts are New Zealand-style donuts, and they love fresh cream. The store shares premises with Mama’s Polynesian Soul Food.
I’ve had several donuts from Mama’s before, and they never disappoint. They have a large range, and you should be aware that they only open 4 days a week – Thursday to Sunday.
This one was delicious.
The dough is very light and airy. It’s not my favourite sort of dough, but it’s still good.
The donut had soft sugar sifted on top.
The cream was very nice. It was soft yet firm, creamy and smooth. The perfect cream for a donut.
It also had a blob of jam on top for extra flavour.
A very nice donut. And I like the way they put it in a box to protect the topping.
