I’m pleased to say that the customer service at Boston Doughnuts at Bass Hill has improved dramatically.

Last time I went there, the person serving seemed to be doing anything to avoid serving.

But on my latest visit, the young girl was extremely pleasant and helpful.

I got a couple of doughnuts, and on this occasion I’ll talk about the Pineapple Fritter.

One thing I’ll add is that I got my doughnuts in a box instead of a bag, which demonstrates to me that they care about their product. Boxes protect the doughnuts much better than bags.

I don’t think I’ve seen a Pineapple Fritter before (except for the ones you get in fish & chip shops). It looked ugly but delicious at the same time – the perfect fritter.

It was also huge. All the doughnuts at Boston Doughnuts are bigger than your average doughnut.

What about the flavour?

Pretty darn good.

The pineapple syrup was flavourful but not too tangy. It was very moist and had seeped into the dough. I don’t know how they handle these things without getting covered in pineapple syrup. The syrup flavour was reminiscent of the old school pineapple doughnuts I had as a kid.

The dough was super moist, probably because of the syrup seepage.

As an alternative to the usual doughnut, the Pineapple Fritter was very nice.
