There are several suburbs of Sydney that are renowned for having excellent bakeries, but Kogarah isn’t usually listed among them. It should. There are some great bakeries in Kogarah.

One of them is Anancina 13th, which has some beautiful Italian foods.

My sister brought one of their doughnuts to me, and I can tell you it was amazing.

Covered in granulated white sugar, it was the dough that made this special.

Fresh, soft, airy, chewy. Slightly oily. Wonderful. Each mouthful was a delight.

It was large too.

It had just the right amount of sugar coating.

Italian food done by Italians is always the best. And this doughnut was fantastic.

I’m eager to try more of their foods.

Their store is at Kogarah and they appear at markets around Sydney, including the Sunday markets at Marrickville.

They don’t have much of a social media presence, but they are on Instagram as @arancina13th
