Comeco Foods is a Japanese Cafe at the southern end of Newtown. All their products are vegan, gluten free and dairy free, including the doughnuts.

When I went there one day, the staff were busily creating more wonderful creations for sale.

I liked the look of the doughnuts, although they were a bit small. There was a good range next to some plastic representations.

I got a Salted Caramel one.

It was amazingly delicious.

It was flat and didn’t have a great shape, but I don’t let the shape of a doughnut rule my judgment, especially when you’re dealing with one that is vegan and gluten-free.

It had just a little bit of crunch on the outside, but the inside was soft and tender, and melted in your mouth.

The salted caramel sauce was nice too. It was quite runny. I’m going to guess it was not homemade, but it was nice nonetheless.

Overall, a great doughnut. I would have liked something bigger, but hey, that’s their decision to make it that size and I still think it is well worth trying.
