Every year, the entire world celebrates National Doughnut Day on the first Friday in June. This year, it’s on Friday 7 June.
What a glorious day it is. One where we all turn our backs on hatred and racism, and unite in harmony under the sprinkled banner of the humble doughnut.
In Australia, the day is mainly used by stores to encourage you to get together with friends and buy lots of their doughnuts. I’m not complaining. If I had a doughnut store, I’d probably do the same thing.
Some stores will promote offers.
Meanwhile, Krispy Kreme will give away thousands of their doughnuts like they do every year. As I write this, I haven’t heard whether they are, but you can bet your bottom doughnut that they will.
Special note to OMG who are raising money for Gotcha4life, which is a charity that aims to improve mental health. That is a very good cause and they should be applauded for taking that initiative. See more details below.
If I can, I’ll list the offers here as I see them. But meanwhile, keep an eye out on the social media pages for doughnut stores to see what they are doing on National Doughnut Day.

Like I said above, Krispy Kreme is quick off the mark with 100,000 free doughnuts. Get in quick.

Donut King is giving away hot cinnamon donuts. They say there are terms and conditions but don’t say what they are, so it’s unclear if you have to make a purchase to get the freebie.

Grumpy Donuts is being very vague about what they are offering on National Donut Day, but it seems like they are simply creating a special flavour.

Specialty Donuts doesn’t seem to be doing anything other than encouraging you to get some doughnuts.

You can get a free cinnamon doughnut at Dolly’s Donuts.

Daddy Donuts is giving away 100 cinnamon donuts. You need to be early for that one.

The Doughnut Mum has a deal of 2 boxes for $35.

I like it when doughnut stores use the day for a worthwhile purpose, which was the original intention of National Doughnut Day. OMG is raising money for Gotcha4life. That’s excellent!
