I was heading to Woolworths in Mortdale the other day and there was a stand selling some ready-to-eat Greek foods. It all looked amazing, and guess what – they had doughnuts.

So I got a jam one.

There was no signage at the stand. I asked the woman serving what the name of the company was that owned the stand. She told me but I couldn’t understand her. Her voice was soft and she had an accent. So I asked her again. I still couldn’t make out what she was saying. At that point I thought I’d only seem to be insulting her if I asked her again, so I left it at that.

The doughnut was very nice.

The size of it was quite large.

It had icing sugar on top which had melted a little, which is quite nice and makes a bit of difference to most places that use caster sugar on their doughnuts.

There wasn’t a whole lot of jam on the inside, but it was good quality genuine jam – not the flavoured apple sauce that many places use these days.

I really liked this doughnut.

I have no idea if it is a regular stand or not. I hope so, because I’d like to go back for more of the lovely looking food that was being sold.
