My daughter brought me a Mikan Donut back from Japan.
Also called Japanese mandarin or officially known as ‘citrus unshu’, Mikan are a popular seedless citrus fruit that you can find in Japan.

The Mikan Donut had a gentle citrus flavouring. Apart from that it was a fairly standard doughnut flavour. The dough was a yellow colour and soft to bite into.

It had a light dusting of soft sugar on the outside.
Appearance-wise, it was a lovely looking doughnut, bearing in mind that it came in a plastic wrapping.

Not the greatest doughnut I’ve ever had, but it was interesting to try. Having a citrus flavour made it unique and worth trying.
