Hummingbird Lane Patisserie in Oatley is a genuine institution of the area. They sell great food, both sweet and savoury. By the way, it’s not located in Hummingbird Lane. In fact I don’t think there is a lane called Hummingbird in Oatley. So don’t literally use the name as your GPS guide.
Anyway, I recently got a Custard Doughnut, which came in a paper patty.
The dough was very light and airy. It had a light yellow tinge to it.
There was lots of soft sugar on the top of the doughnut.
There was a good amount of custard filling, which can often make or break a doughnut. This amount seemed just right.
The custard wasn’t too sweet and was a good consistency for a doughnut filling. A lot of places get that wrong and put in custard that is too runny.
As expected, a very nice doughnut from Hummingbird Lane Patisserie.
