Some very thoughtful friends of mine gave me a Custard Doughnut from Boston Doughnuts, which they picked up from the Boston Doughnuts pop-up stand at Bankstown Centro.

The first thing you might notice about the doughnuts from Boston Doughnuts is the size. They are very big compared to everyone else’s doughnuts. Their doughnuts are like meals.

The dough in the Custard Doughnut was very light and fluffy, incredibly soft and airy.

It had a dusting of soft sugar on the top.

There was lots of custard filling, and I mean lots. What you see on top is just the tip of the custard iceberg.

The custard itself is quite good. It’s firm, creamy and not too sweet. It complements the dough nicely.

The doughnuts at Boston Doughnuts are well worth the money (especially when you are given one).
