Ampol service stations have started stocking Doughnut Time doughnuts in their Foodary outlets. I saw one when I was in Nowra. They had a dedicated stand just for the Doughnut Time products, which are doughnuts and coffee.

I got a Vanilla Iced Doughnut.

It was rather ordinary. It had probably been frozen and thawed. It just didn’t taste fresh at all. And the service was a bit wanting.

Getting a doughnut from a service station is always risky business. The freshness is not something they are going to make a priority. Most customers aren’t going specifically to get a doughnut.

I like the idea that you can get Doughnut Time doughnuts at Ampol Foodary outlets, but I’ll have to drop my standards if I ever have another one.
