My daughter, who loves doughnuts (runs in the family) can’t eat gluten, and she loves G-Free Donuts. So when I see them, I get some for her. They are gluten-free and cooked fresh. As it turns out, they are so good, I enjoy them too.

G-Free Donuts is at Marrickville Markets every Sunday. At the moment they are positioned in the worst possible spot – furthest from the entry. The stall holder would love to move, but has to wait until a spot becomes available. As I’ve discovered, market-life is a strange game.

Anyway, I got a big box of plain cinnamon doughnuts.
I had one almost straight away. It was warm and delicious. It was a bit oily and a smidgen undercooked, having just come from the fryer. But that was okay because it quickly dries up and is a lovely warm cinnamon doughnut.
Being gluten-free, it is not as firm as your regular cinnamon doughnut. In fact, if you’re not careful, it can fall apart on you while you’re eating it. This happened to a friend who I offered one too – some of his doughnut fell on the ground.

As far as gluten-free cinnamon doughnuts go, G-Free are, according top my daughter, the best. I think they are pretty darn good too.
They have plenty of outlets these days. If you go to Marrickville Markets, be sure to head to the far end, because that’s where they’ll be, unless they have happened to move.
