I was wandering around Nowra on the New South Wales South Coast when I walked past a bakery and cafe called The Deli On Kinghorne. There were plenty of people in there – always a good sign.

They had a big display of pasties and other treats, including some homemade doughnuts. How could I resist?

I chose a Jam Donut. It was delicious.
It was rolled in sugar and had a loads of jam inside. It was a nice jam, too. Not commercially-made puree. Real jam. Real nice!

The dough was nicely cooked. It was chewy and tasty and didn’t leave an oily after-taste in your mouth.

The Deli On Kinghorne in Nowra seems to be one of those gems you stumble upon, with modern cafe choices including wonderful freshly homemade foods.
Great stuff and a rare treat in Nowra.
