When I’m in Oatley I always like to check the lovely treats in Hummingbird Lane Patisserie.

Oatley is in Sydney’s south. The shopping village is quaint, having retained that ‘village’ feel, with no large stores or chains setting up shop. There’s an IGA and a Baker’s Delight, but pretty much everything else is a privately owned business.

I got a Chocolate Iced Doughnut from a bakery called Hummingbird Lane. As expected, it was pretty good.

It was quite a large size, which I like. It had some sprinkles on it to give it some colour. The chocolate icing was dark and firm, with plenty of flavour.

The doughnut was soft with a slightly yellow hue. It was nicely cooked and went down well.

Hummingbird Lane also has a lot of Cinnamon Doughnuts, which they probably sell more of than the large iced ones, like my Chocolate Iced Doughnut. They also have plenty of other delicious things to choose from.

When you’re in Oatley, this is your shop for cakes and pies.
