The first thing I noticed about Boston Doughnuts is the size of their doughnuts. They are huge. Each one is a meal.
Boston Doughnuts is located in Bass Hill, which is not far from Bankstown in Sydney’s west.

The store is a bit difficult to find. It’s in a block with a service station and/or mechanic. And parking is a bit hard to find. But you need to work through the small inconveniences because you’ll get a good doughnut.

It was a difficult choice from a big range, but I ended up getting a Boston Bomb Donut. While I was waiting for my order, I could see the guy out the back filling the next batch of doughnuts. He was doing each meticulously by hand, squeezing the filling into the balls of doughnuts.
My Boston Bomb was good.

It was covered in chocolate icing with crushed peanuts on top. There was a good filling of custard inside. It wasn’t too sweet and the consistency suited the doughnut. The dough was cooked nicely – not moist, not dry. As I said, the doughnuts are huge. You can see by the image above, mine was about 14cm wide. Massive.

I hope this store takes off because they do a good doughnut. They might need to invest in a bit more social media to increase exposure. But if they sell all the doughnuts they put on display, they aren’t doing too badly.
Great stuff.
